How do I print on campus?

Printing on campus is managed by UT's Information Technology Services (ITS). To print on the UT campus, you must install the ITS printing software. Click here to learn to install ITS printing software.

How do I use the ITS printing software?

To print using ITS printing software:

  1. Make sure you have money in BevoBucks before attempting to print.
  2. In your file, go to File > Print.
  3. Select the correct printer.
  4. When prompted, enter your UT EID and password and click OK.
  5. A screen will pop up telling you how much your job will cost. If you want to continue, click OK.
  6. Click OK on the confirmation screen.

Your account will be automatically charged when you print. Most labs hold printouts for up to 72 hours before placing them in recycling.

How do I pay for printing? How much does it cost?

To pay for printing, you must have money in your BevoBucks account. If you have not set up your BevoBucks account before, it is a 3-step process: Join, Add Bucks, and Pay for Bucks. If you have to print for a class or midterm, don't wait till the last minute to join BevoBucks! Your payment must clear before you will be allowed to print.

Current printing prices:

  • Laser printing - $0.10 per page
  • Color laser printing - $0.80 per page
  • Color transparency laser printing - $1.60 per page

You will not be charged for the printing cover sheet that prints with your document. Printing prices are subject to change.

Where are the printers located and what are they named?

All printers are regular laser writers (i.e., black ink) unless otherwise noted.

Get help with printing problems

How you get help with a printer mostly depends on what computer you are using and what kind of problem you are having.

Millennium Lab
Your first stop should be the Millennium Lab. The lab proctors can help you if a printer is malfunctioning, or is out of paper. They can help determine if there is a problem with the printer or with the setup on your computer. They can also try to reprint your job.

If you are using a McCombs Notebook Computer and the Millennium Lab Proctors cannot help you, take your computer to the SWAT Shop. If they determine it is not a problem with your computer, you may need to speak with the ITS Help Desk.

If you have a personal computer and the lab proctors cannot help you, contact the ITS Help Desk.

ITS controls all printing charges, even in the McCombs School of Business. Lab proctors and the SWAT Shop can help with minor problems, but larger problems may have to go to the ITS Help Desk. More information about ITS Print Services can be found at http://www.utexas.edu/its/printing/index.html.

Install ITS Printing Software

Please go to our Install ITS Printing Software article for instructions on installing the software on your personal computer. If you are a returning student with the old ITS Remote Printing software (the software that required you to log in with an IF account) you will first need to uninstall the old printing software and remove the printers from your computer.
